BSN stands for Bachelors of Science in nursing. People who are interested in earning a BSN are required to attend a four-year university or college. It typically takes four or five years to earn a bachelor’s degree.
BSN Overview
Students typically spend the first two years taking the prerequisite courses. Anatomy, physiology, algebra, chemistry and psychology are just a few of the courses that are required to enter the nursing program. After students have completed the prerequisites, they are required to submit an application to the nursing program. Pathophysiology, microbiology, health assessment and research topics in nursing are some of the courses that are required at most nursing schools. Students are also required to complete clinical rotations so that they can apply the skills that they learned in the classroom.
